Many COPD sufferers are underweight or malnourished, but a British study suggests that getting nutritional advice may help. Researchers found that COPD patients who were given advice on diet and nutritional supplements from a dietitian gained 4 pounds in six months, and had fewer episodes of breathlessness. Those who didn't receive counseling continued to lose weight.
