A new test may help doctors determine which embryos are most
viable. Traditionally, fertility experts have made decisions about
which embryos to implant based on how well they appear to be
growing. But a new, one-minute "fitness" test evaluates an embryo's
metabolism--a process that doctors say helps them determine which
one will bring about pregnancy. Experts say the new test may be
available in some countries by 2009.
