A new British report suggests that a lack of adequate nutrition for the elderly may speed deterioration among those who suffer from dementia. The study's authors say that malnutrition can lead to avoidable deterioration and unnecessary hospitalization, and they suggest that good nutrition for those in nursing homes and other eldercare facilities should be a key aspect of keeping patients healthy.
