Researchers at Johns Hopkins University have found that people who have mildly elevated blood pressure and follow the DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) can significantly reduce their risk of heart attack. The DASH diet involves eating a diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables and low in saturated fats, red meats, sweets, and sugary beverages.
