Probiotic Side Effects

Researchers say that probiotics may ease the pain, diarrhea, and constipation suffered by patients with irritable bowel syndrome. Scientists at Oxford analyzed the results of 14 studies conducted over a period of weeks or months and found that nearly half of the trials reported significant improvements in abdominal pain, flatulence, bloating, and quality of life for patients with IBS, with very few side effects reported.
