Vegan diet may ease RA heart risks

Researchers in Stockholm have found that people who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and who eat a gluten-free, vegan diet may cut their cardiovascular risks. Heart attack and stroke are among the leading cause of death for RA patients because inflammation caused by the disease affects the arteries. But scientists say a diet that excludes animal products and gluten--which is found in wheat, oats, rye,and barley--may reduce RA sufferer's increased cardiovascular risks. Read more »
