Weight control program may improve diabetics' well being

One year in a weight control program is enough to improve diabetics’ mental and physical quality of life, a new study suggests. Researchers in Louisiana found that 5,145 study patients lost about 8.5 percent of their body weight over the course of the year through diet and exercise, and those patients also showed significant improvement in symptoms of depression and other mental-health factors when compared to a control group.
