Tart cherries, green tea, and caffeine may each protect people from certain diseases, new research suggests. Scientists at Cornell University found that caffeine appears to ward off the debilitating autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis in mice. Another study showed that green tea had an anticancer effect on cancer cells in a laboratory. And scientists at the University of Michigan say tart cherries help reduce inflammation in the body, which reduces the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Read more »
