Also known as: Angelica sinensis, Chinese Angelica, dang gui, danggui, dong qua, ligustilides, tan kue bai zhi, tang kuei.
Potential uses: It's thought that dong quai may lessen menopausal symptoms, high blood pressure, anemia, constipation, and allergic reactions.
Usual dose: 4.5 grams of powdered herb per day.
Are there any risks? Taking dong quai for a short time is considered safe. But the effects of taking it for a long time or at high doses have not been studied.
