Whether or not coffee increases cholesterol levels may have to do with how the coffee is made. Johns Hopkins scientists believe that terpene, an oil found in coffee, contributes to cholesterol. Filtering the coffee--as opposed to percolating, for example--reduces the amount of terpenes. Read more »
