Patch may help damaged hearts heal

A patch designed to help hearts heal after a heart attack has shown positive results in early trials. The mesh patch is made of vicryl, a material grown in a bioreactor out of human dermal cells and then placed on the heart. There it delivers cells that grow to strengthen the heart muscle.
