FDA questions safety of caffeinated alcoholic drinks

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is questioning the safety of caffeinated alcoholic drinks. They're requiring information from 30 companies on the safety of the drinks, after 18 state attorneys general wrote the FDA raising questions about their safety. Experts say being wide awake and drunk increases the risk for violent or other high-risk activities. Caffeine is approved for addition to soft drinks, but not alcoholic drinks.
