Chili Pepper Ingredient May Fight Fat

The ingredient that puts the "pep" in hot peppers may also cause weight loss, South Korean researchers say. Capsaicin appears to trigger proteins that help fight fight by shrinking tissue and lowering fat levels in the blood. In a recent study, scientists found that rats fed high-fat diets lost 8 percent of their body weight when they were also fed capsaicin.
