Many U.S. Dietary Supplements Contaminated: Report

According to a new report from Consumer Reports, many popular dietary supplements contain ingredients that can cause cancer, liver or kidney damage, or heart problems. Researchers isolated 12 supplement ingredients that could be particularly dangerous to consumers, including bitter orange, colloidal silver, comfrey, and yohimbe. Experts say the report highlights the need for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to have more authority in regulating these so-called "natural" supplements.  Read full story >
