Do Circumcised Men Like Oral Sex More?

Diane: My husband?s against circumcision. He believes that circumcision makes it harder to stimulate the penis during sex. He also thinks this is why a lot of men like oral sex so much, and maybe even homosexual activity. What do you think of this theory?

Dr. Dean: Well, remember that in the 19th century people believed circumcision was one way to stop masturbation. This thinking was way off the mark. In a recent study published in the Journal of American Medical Association, researchers found out two things. First, circumcised men masturbate more. And second, they have a greater tendency toward oral and anal sex. This would suggest that they may be trying to make up for a lack of penile sensation.

In other countries, such as France or Germany, when you ask them, men don?t put oral sex high on their list of preferences. American men do, so I think there?s some evidence for supporting your husband?s theory.

Homosexuality?s a different issue altogether.
