Danny: I suffer from severe blushing. I get hot, turn very red, and beads of sweat form on my forehead. I've tried everthing, including breathing exercises and special foods, but nothing works.

Dr. Dean: Give biofeedback a try. Biofeedback can teach people to alter their blood pressure and other body functions, so it might give you a technique to control blushing. A sensor that catches your blush impulse at a very early stage will send you an audio or visual cue. You learn to respond to the cue to stop the blush.

Another solution might be a sympathectomy. The keyhole operation, done with a small cut rather than a big incision, snips the sympathetic nerves that control blushing. The operation is proving very effective. Sweating can be controlled this way too.
