Let's Not Circumcise Boys Or Girls

Both sexes share a common ground when it comes to being opposed to circumcision.

I was one of the first doctors to talk about the horrors of female circumcision in some cultures. Now I see a woman?s activist group wants to make the procedure on girls into a separate issue.

I admit there are some forms of female circumcision that seem worse than what happens to males, but I think we all share the same concerns.

The fact is both male and female circumcisions are forms of genital mutilation and should be opposed as unethical and unnecessary.

Let?s not become polarized over an important health issue that affects both males and females.
