E-mail: My husband's getting a vasectomy, so I've been researching it on the Internet.

Dr. Dean: Be careful!

E-mail: I found a couple of references to erectile dysfunction. What's up with that?

Dr. Dean: Vasectomies have no effect on erections. Most men are better lovers after having vasectomies, because they are more relaxed about sex.

If men have poor erections after vasectomies, the cause is psychological. They have come to believe that their virility has been assaulted.
