A Hero In The Fight Against Circumcision

I like to plug unsung heroes and one of them is Steven E. Michaud, the former coordinator of the Southern California chapter of the National Organization of Restoring Men (NORM) who has fought for years against circumcision.

Michaud is a pioneer in the anti-circumcision movement and a few years ago led a successful effort to ban most forms of childhood female circumcision in the United States.

NORM has presented Michaud with its Dona True Award for outstanding self-help meeting of the year. I?m not exactly sure what this entailed, but Michaud once spent 38 months doing a non-surgical reversal of his own circumcision.

I consider circumcision to be barbaric and I?m glad to see Michaud honored for taking a stand against this outdated and unnecessary practice.
