Fractured Penis Tales

Posting Date: 02/09/2001

The interesting thing here is that most of the literature reviewed says there will be a 30 percent complication rate after penis fracture that is treated conservatively ?- that means the doctors did nothing. Many men don?t seek treatment after penis fracture because they are too embarrassed. The men followed in this report may have had good outcomes because they only had minimal disruption. I would like to see a larger segment of this population followed with an initial objective radiographic assessment, so we could corroborate or refute these initial findings.

This won?t change my advice to the guy who calls and says he broke his penis. I will still tell him to let the doctor operate. I've got to go with the party line, because the party line is going to be based on lots of studies. But this study comes from a very good urology department. If a guy tells me he doesn?t want an operation, it still looks like he?ll have a good chance of recovery.

Be careful, all the same friends, not to break your penis.
