A New Wrinkle For Your Eyes

Let?s talk about your wrinkles. It?s amazing to me that we are using one of the most powerful toxins known to mankind successfully in cosmetic surgery.

Doctors argue all the time about how much it takes, but let?s say a little ounce shot glass size of botulism toxin, could destroy the entire human race. If you divvied up that toxin, it would destroy every human on earth.

I know the man who invented this. He?s an ophthalmologist. He injected this into the eye muscles of people who were cross-eyed to relax one muscle and allow their eyes to straighten out.

Nowadays, we use it in everything from sweating to spasms of the neck, to the blinking of the eye. Now we?re using it in cosmetic surgery a lot, as you know.

This is an article on using botulism toxin around your eyeballs to take away wrinkles and to make the size of your eyes larger. This increases the palpebral aperture, the opening for your eyelids. I guess making the eyes look bigger is a positive thing.

And also, once again, a very carefully done study of intraorbital rhytides -- rhytid is another word for wrinkle. And it definitely seems to improve wrinkles under the eye and widens the eye.

But, boy, if someone is going to be coming at my eyeball with a needle, it better be someone with experience with this. This was an impressive study.
