Varnish is a clear liquid coating. Varnish poisoning occurs when someone swallows varnish.

- Amber
- Balsam
- Rosin
- Various substances produced from plants and insects (such as lac, urethanes)
Solvent part:
- Ethanol
- Mineral spirits
- Turpentine

- Some varnishes
