Risks
Risks for retinal detachment surgery include:
- Bleeding
- Detachment that is not completely fixed (may require more surgeries)
- Increase in eye pressure (elevated intraocular pressure)
- Infection
General anesthesia may be needed. The risks for any anesthesia are:
- Reactions to medications
- Problems breathing
