Risks of carpal tunnel release are:

  • Allergic reactions to medicines
  • Bleeding
  • Infection
  • Injury to the median nerve or nerves that branch off of it
  • Rarely, injury to another nerve or blood vessel (artery or vein)
  • Scar sensitivity
