Increased acid in the esophagus may be a sign of, or occur with:
Barrett's esophagus - Difficulty swallowing (
dysphagia ) - Esophageal scarring
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Heartburn - Reflux esophagitis
If you are suspected to have
Barium swallow -
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (also called upper GI endoscopy)
