Normal values range from 1.9 to 3.7 ng/mL/hour.

What abnormal results mean
Higher than normal levels may indicate:
Addison's disease Cirrhosis - Dehydration
- Hemorrhage (bleeding)
- High blood pressure
Hypokalemia Malignant hypertension - Nephrotic syndrome
Renin-producing renal tumors Renovascular hypertension
Lower than normal levels may indicate:

ADH therapy - Sodium-retaining steroid therapy
- Sodium-sensitive high blood pressure
