What the risks are
Risks are minimal, but may include:
- Infection or injury to the baby
Miscarriage - Leaking of amniotic fluid
- Vaginal bleeding
Special considerations
There may be alternatives to the amniocentesis. Discuss these other tests with your health care provider.
