Erectile Dysfunction Issues

By tennisguy Sunday, May 22, 2011

I am considering getting a vacuum pump in connection with ED.  Has this worked well for others in this thread?

My urologist recommended I use a vacuum pump instead of drugs to achieve an erection. My blood pressure and heart issues are the main reason she would not prescribe the ED drugs.  At first my wife and I were very frustrated with the pump but found like everything new, it takes some practice to learn how to use it properly.  The first issue was finding the correct size band to fit around the base of the penis, if it's too big for your size, it won't hold the blood in the penis and you'll loose your erection very quickly, too small and it will get painful.  The other issue was in my mind, I felt awkward pumping up my penis and coming out with a band around it. My wife was very understanding so that made me fell more comfortable. We nowable enjoy sex again because we stuck with it.

Jason, thanks for the useful information.  Considering that, because of Medicare, there is no cost to me, I think I will give the pump a try.

The best one in my experience is made by Bonro Medical, medicare paid for it. I had about the same problems with the size of the rings. Too big it doesn't hold the erection, too small it is sort of painful, however it needs to be used often at first to get used to it. The worst part is you don't have much time for foreplay which the wife doesn't like.

I am considering a implant with the pump , cylinders and reservoir, but would like to talk to some who have had it done.
