It may seem a little odd reading the words ‘popular' and ‘treatment' in the same sentence. Does anyone really want treatment? It clearly implies there is something wrong with you. So we start from the perspective of actually needing treatment and having to seek out the treatment that will...

    Dear Jerry,

I am an 18 year old boy whos been sexual active since i was 16.  I am sad to say that recently I have been having trouble "getting up" with my girlfriend.  When I masturbate everything is fine but whenever I get with a girl it just doesnt seem to work and its not that im nervous or anything.  This is very frustrating and embarassing for me.  For the record I am a smoker, and drinker on occasion but i also exercise. Please help me.

You are quite young to have ED, Erection Dysfunction, But then it can happen at any age, more so with aging. I would see your main problem not so much of an ED problem, but as an Anxiety-Performance-Problem. Your penis, must always work and be there for the both of you, but you and I know that lots of things get in the way of it doing what you want it to do. There are lots of ways to sexually pleasure a woman, being as you have ten penises on the end of your hands, and the best penis in your mouth, your tongue. Then you shouldn't over-look sex toys in your coupling either, as they can be quite enjoyable too. Also when you masturbate, and most of us do that, Don't rush your ejaculations, but try to prolong your erections as long as possible. Quick ejaculations only set you up for future penile failures. So if you can bring yourself as close to an ejaculation, them stop, then once again when you have regainned control over your penis continue your stroking. You do the above at least 6,times when you masturbate, and what you are doing is taking contol over your penis. This is called the Start And Stop Method to improve your penile performance within the relationship

Do hope that this has been helpful.

for me what worked was a lifestyle adjustment: booze, coke and little sleep all went out, and most importantly was a partner who could deal with it and take me to a new level at age 56

it's not about lasting longer and harder– it's about getting it on, not off
