penile implant

By slowlyone Monday, May 28, 2007

I am considering a penile implant and would like to discuss this with some people who have already to this. If there are people out there that have had experience with a penile implant and would like to share I would appreciate the conversation.

Sincerely,

slowly

I had a Malleable implant in Dec. 2007. I had it in 2 weeks, developed an infection and had to have it out. Because there was so much infection, they couldn't put a new one in. It took 3 months for the infection to be completely gone and for the wound to heal from it being taken out. I was never told of the complications if you developed an infection, the doctor said the surgery was simple. I had pain so bad I couldn't sleep or walk very well. I lost over 35 pounds, and do not have the energy I had before the surgery. Now since I have scar tissue in the corporal cavities that the implant was put in it is almost impossible to have a surgery again & if I do it would be a much smaller implant because of the scar tissue. When you hasve the implant out, your penis shrinks to half the size it was before the surgery. I would find the BEST Urologist possible to do the surgery, I didn't have a very good one.

I'm also considering having a penile implant. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and may elect to have robotic surgery, if I lise my ability to have an erection. My uroglist does not do robotic surgery, so I will be referred to a specialist in Sacramento CA. My question is how the implants work on different types of penis's? I'm what they call a grower; I go from 1.5 inch to 5.5 inches when erect. Will the implants keep me at an erect soft size until inflated? Will the implants keep me at 1.5 inches until inflated? I have not found any information about my concerns addressed on line. I would like as much knowledge before I make any decisions.

I've had surgery for Peyronies and am considering a penile implant.  Since the surgery I have lost penis lenght and have an indention, at the base  of the penis, due to scaring.  Also erections are rather limp !  I'm concerned that  the implant will cause further loss of length.  Anyone have any advise ?

I just had penile implant surgery and to be honest I'm not very satisfied because I have lost the feeling on my penis and I don't enjoy sex like before. I also lost about 2-3 inches in length and is not as thick as before.I really regret having the surgery and I wish I could reverse it and go back to the way it was before.I also developed two streams while urinating. I wish I could find a Dr to correct my problem. It has really depressed me.

My husband has the same problems. We are not satisfied at all. We also wish he had not gotten this done. His penis is smaller in length and girth by several inches both ways. The head stays soft and the erection is nowhere close to what it was. He is more depressed than before he had the surgery. We would not advise it to anyone.
