Hello BeeBee,
Have you had an issue with priapism? When doctors prescribe injections, they usually start with the lowest dose possible to achieve an erection. Here is some information you might find helpful. Now no one knows better than you and your doctor what the best course of treatment is for you. But this information might help you ask the questions you need to ask to make sure you are doing the most you can to manage your health.
Here is the overview of erectile dysfunction. You have probably heard all of this before, but it never hurts to read it again. Here is a database that will give you information to help you cope with ED. You might find some helpful tips or it might help you ask the questions you need to ask of your doctor.
There is a treatments database located here that has information about all treatments available, but also discusses problems that can come up including priapism. In fact, this article says to treat a priapism you put some ice on your inner thigh for about 10 minutes. Of course if you do experience priapism and this does not work, you need to call your doctor.
I hope you find this helpful. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. If you are having a challenging day and want to vent, let us know. There are lots of folks in the same situation you are in that might be able to help.
Take care and be well!
