Prostatectomy

By vicchm Wednesday, November 07, 2007
My husband recently had his prostate removed, 3 1/2 month ago.  He is 51 years old.  He has tried to take Viagra but it gives him a terrible headache and quite frankly, I didn't see any improvement in his erection.  He really doesn't seem to want to try having intercourse at all.  I have tried to be very understanding.  I don't care about the intercourse so much as I miss the intimacy.  I am willing to do anything to help him but I don't want to pressure him. Any advice?

Vicchim - Fret not my dear, I've had my prostate removed approximately 3 1/2 months ago also.  Don't expect him to improve even with viagra, cialis or levitra because it takes from 6 months to 2 1/2 years (in rare cases) for him to get back down to business.  It will help him and you both if he (at least for now) explored others ways to please you sexually as I have with my wife.  He will heal in due time and when that happens my dear - he may very well be chasing you all over the house.  He needs to excercise and see his urologist who may be able to provide treatment to enhance or speed recovery

Thanks so much for your encouragement. I am trying to be very supportive and understanding so I don't put undue pressure on him. I pretty much leave it all to him. Thanks again!
