A Brief History:

1.  I began having impotence in 1999 at the age of 54.  My urologist prescribed Viagra and it worked exceptionally well.

2.  In 2003, I began to experience a loss in energy and sexual desire.  I was diagnosed with very low testosterone and began monthly treatments.  Again, the testosterone treatments combined with Viagra restored my sex life.

3.  In early 2005, I was diagnosed with rectal cancer and underwent five weeks of chemotherapy (5-FU) and 28 radiation treatments to shrink the tumor.  On June 3, 2005 I had a colostomy which removed my sigmoid colon, rectom and anus.  I was told at that time there was a possiblity I would experience ED.

4.  I haven't been able to have a normal  erection since that time (2 1/2 years).

5.  A vacuum pump works moderately well, but it is very painful and the erection is not enough to have intercourse.

6.  I was told good news:  Blood does circulate in my penis so an erection should be possible.

7.  I tried Muse which gave me about 75-80% erection.

I know this is a long post, but my questions are as follows:

A. Is research being done on possible repair of the nerves that were apparently damaged due to the surgery?

B. If I opt for the 3-piece inflatable implant, will it significantly reduce the length and girth of my penis?

C. I have read that sometimes an implant can actually increase the length and girth.  Is this true?  What conditions would make this possible?

D.  And most important, will my penis still be sensitive to sexual activity?

Thanks for any help anyone out there can share.
