y - Unless you have had a recent physical exam, that should probably be your first step. There are many physical issues that can cause ED and you may have one of those totally unbeknownst to you. Alcohol consumption and other medications are also something that needs to be investigated as potential causes, as well as a host of psychological and relationship issues. Once you have been cleared by your primary physician and these other potential causes have been ruled out then it will make more sense to ask about medications.   Rick Wirtz   Rick Wirtz is a Psychologist, not a Psychiatrist.
