Gene therapy looks promising!

Flavio
11/13/08

Gene therapy seems to be the future of ED treatment. Dr Arnold Melman from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is the man behind this new approach. The new therapy seems to be safe and effective. And what's even better, it doesn't mean that drugs such as Viagra or Ciagra will become obsolete:

«The gene therapy also appears to work "synergistically" with drugs such as Viagra and Cialis, "so that you can perhaps use a lower dose ... if you have these genes on board," Melman says.»

The only drawback seems to be the use method: an injection into the penis every 6 months.

Have you got any idea when will this new treatment become available?

This was first reported on back in 2007 - no significant news on further research success at this time.  he's also indicated that statins might help - but again - no clear successful research to support use.  If the ED is caused by "clogged arteries" then maybe it has efficacy.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability of a man to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for his or his partner's sexual needs.
