Q: Cardiomyopathy and Viagra

I got dilated Cardiomyopathy five years ago and had Atrial fibrillation two years ago and am taking various medicines including a blood thinner, can I safely take Viagra ?

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your question. I would recommend speaking to your doctor. I'm not sure what "various medications" you're taking, but there are several medications that could prevent you from being able to take Viagra. If you have several doctors or specialists, be sure to keep them all informed of the various medications that you are taking - this will help to prevent drug interactions that could be harmful!
