Topics:Erectile Dysfunction

Me and my girlfriend enjoy having sex, however I am having trouble lasting more than a few minutes once inside of her. Its making love making more of a chore than a pleasure. I try to pace myself and go slow, but she demands that I go faster and harder. I've been thinking about trying some type of medication that would help endurance, but i'm not sure where to look or if that is even th problem. I'm not sure its ED as i can get up and achieve and orgasm,  i just don't last. In previous relationships I don't remember having this problem, but i hate to think its my girlfriend. What can we do?

I'm not an expert, but I suggest the penis ring. It will strengthen your erections and delay your ejaculation.

Hi unoloco23,

While I don't think you are experiencing premature ejaculation, there is some information you can read that might give you ideas on how to delay your orgasm.

You can read about premature ejaculation here. There are some listed symptoms and causes. There is also a section here about prevention and treatment. Although there is no real prevention for premature ejaculation, there are some suggestions here.

Dr Owens at Sexualhealth.com also had this to say about premature ejaculation, "Meanwhile you can masturbate, if you want to. This is a very good way of improving your erections, and there are several exercises you can do in order to lengthen the time before you ejaculate. You can read about these exercises on our page dedicated to rapid ejaculation or in the chapter called "Developing Ejaculatory Control" in the book, The New Male Sexuality by Bernie Zilbergeld. I can highly recommend this book to you. You can read the rest of the article here.

Online sites are great resources for information to be able to ask all the right questions when it's time to see your doctor, but they can not take the place of your doctor's sound medical advice.

I hope this helps! Take care and stay in touch and let us know how you are doing!

Another tip: masturbate 1-2 hours before sex. You'll feel more relaxed and sex will last longer.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability of a man to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for his or his partner's sexual needs.
