Though Phytotherapy Research did publish an article tying spearmint and peppermint teas to suppression of the male hormone androgen, this study also found that the minty flavors did not decrease overall testosterone levels. The researchers did recommend further studies to confirm or deny any link between mints and sexual dysfunction. The verdict: inconclusive. But remember: almost anything in excess can be bad for your health.
