The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is reporting that Teva Pharmaceuticals' generic form of Wellbutrin is safe and effective for the treatment of depression. The FDA launched an evaluation of the drug after it received reports that the generic form, buproprion, did not work as well to relieve depression in some users who switched from Wellbutrin XL, the brand name form of the drug.
