Fat turns male hormone to female hormone: expert

The reason many men who gain weight develop erectile dysfunction and other sexual problems is due to to hormone changes, says one impotence expert. Dr. Ronald Lewis, an impotence expert at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine, says that fat converts testosterone to estrogen--a factor that can affect libido as well as the ability to maintain an erection. Lewis also says that men are often the focus of sexual problems, but he suggests that if there is a sexual problem in a relationship it probably affects a man's partner, as well.
