Herpetic esophagitis

Herpetic esophagitis is a herpes simplex infection causing inflammation and ulcers of the esophagus. Symptoms include difficulty and pain when swallowing (dysphagia). Herpetic esophagitis can be effectively treated with antiviral medication.
