Worried..

By Keeks Friday, April 25, 2008

I have only been sexually active once in my life and it so happened to be with my best guy friend of a very long time. Through oral sex was how the STD was transmitted. I was only 16 (now 17) and it was my first time ever doing anything that sexually active, so I really didn't think I would get herpes. I've been living with herpes for just a little under 6 months and I think I may have just contracted my second outbreak, but it is in my mouth this time. I have not been sexually active in any sense other than kissing since the accident. I know it is herpes because of the research I did online, It isn't bothering me that much, but it is very annoying and I can't stand the fact that my outbreak-free streak has now broken. I scare myself lonely most of the time thinking that I will never be able to have a normal sex life. I am trying to get rid of this one between my teeth and bottom lip, would anbesol work? I don't want to try for fear of making my situation worse. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.

Hi Keeks, my name is Camilo and I am monitoring this Sharepost Community. I must first tell you that I am not a certified healthcare practitioner and thus cannot offer you any professional advice. I can, however, direct you to some helpful sections of our site that you mind helpful in addressing your concern. We have a comprenhensive section on treatment for oral herpes, where you will find that anbesol will provide you with only modest anesthetic relief--meaning that it willl just lessen your discomfort but not necessarily speed up recovery. However, there are other alternative treatments that you will find on that page that will decrease the time you experience an outbreak, check them out. I hope this was of help and please continue to post with any other questions or concerns that you may have. Also, don't forget to consult your physician before adopting any new knowledge into practice.

Have you been to your doctor?  Do you know if you have HSV1 or HSV2?  You can still get type one genitally and type two orally, right?  You don't reallly say if your outbreak was ever genitally.
