I am so depressed.

By cupcake Wednesday, April 21, 2010

I just found out I have herpes and I am very depressed. I dont have genital herpes, so far I have been getting those horrible blisters on my fingers, right elbow and my tummy and I just feel ... I dont know how I feel. I have an 8 month-old baby and I dont want to pass the virus to him, I am being very careful but I feel so scared every single time I touch him. I dont know what to do, I feel tired, depressed, hopeless, I feel ugly, I cant sleep at night, I even feel like I dont wanna live anymore. I dont know how I got the virus and I dont want to live with it for the rest of my life, I hate it!!

You should be careful during your outbreaks, because, as you probably know, herpes can be transmitted through a skin-to-skin contact. You have a baby, so I'd advice you to wear some cotton shirts with sleeves which cover the elbow area and you could bandage your finger/fingers during an outbreak. You are emotionally devastated; just think that herpes is not the end of your life. You have to move on and think about your child. It's not important now how you got the virus, you just need to accept the fact that you have it and learn how to live with it, millions have it and you can be happy. And if you are single you can join some dating sites like http://stidatingclub.com for people with herpes, and it does not necessarily mean that you have to date, just communicate with people who have it, you will find support from people who managed emotional stress.
