Monday, April 13, 2009 at 03:20 PMI was just diagnosed with HSV 1. I discussed the tingling on my lips, now, and the itching sensation that I am feeling. I had a simple blood test, and the doctor says I will need to have an break out with blisters before a sample-culture can actually determine the virsus. He says many people have HSV 1. I am determined to have a complete diagnosis. What is the western blot test? Can you recommend a good doctor? I will check out Scipio's book. Thank you.

Just get a western blot test. It tends to be reliable. Then depending upon your symthoms you can talk to your doctor about options for treatment. for example, I am on valtrex suppressive. There are other homeopathic methods to try as well if that's what it is. For example christopher scipio has a really good homeopathic book on amazon.com , you know also, the herpes virus houses itself at the base of one's central nervious system, so perhaps that's why the itch. There are many treatment options. I know its scary, but its better to find out what it is, so you can choose the best treatment option for you. If you need anything, I am here to help you along. I was recently diagnosed 3 months ago, but suspect I have had the virus for at least a year already.
