How to Get Herpes out of your Life!

Here's my story - I hope it will help you!

I have had herpes type II since I was 25. I am now 33. I had an uncommon reaction to herpes... I would not get sores, just intense (pain level 9 at times) pain in my rectum that would spread down my labia and down one of my legs. Sometimes the pain was so bad that I could not sit for days and this would occur frequently (several times a month, easy). I had these outbreaks - or the associated neuralgia - for years, and I would feel twinges almost every day and had to stay on suppressive therapy for years. It was bad!

Here's the upside: I noticed that I was extremely sensitive to eating chocolate, peanuts, etc., so I thought maybe lysine might be worth a try. I had tried it in the past, but it never worked. So, I decided to try to get much higher doses and try it for a longer period of time (3 mo). I began making smoothies in the morning and added in whey protein powder, which is very high in lysine. Then, I also added 500 mg capsule of lysine to my smoothie. In the beginning, I also made sure I ate foods high in lysine and low in argenine. After about 2 months I noticed for the first time I was not having constant herpes/neuralgia. It has been over a year now and I have only had 1 minor outbreak. I really don't think about herpes anymore now, but I do keep my lysine levels high with the smoothies still, daily. I no longer take any suppressive drugs either. The lysine approach has saved me. I was so miserable for so many years. The change has been dramatic. And... what an easy solution this is.

Give it a try: 1 scoop whey protein/day in am, 500mg capsule of lysine/day in am, and (for at least the first months) eat a diet high in lysine and low in argenine (no chocolate, no nuts, etc.).  And do this regularly for months, and keep doing it.  Take valtrex and an extra lysine when you feel a little something coming on, so you can continue to keep H at bay.  You might, till you really start getting better, even take 500mg lysine every night too, I believe I did that as well for the first couple months.

For some other up sides -- I also met my husband who, it turned out also had herpes -- he didn't know, I had him get tested... we've been together happily for 6 years now.

Hope this helps!!
