16 & living with herpes.

I am 16 years old and i was diagnosed with Genital Herpes(HSV 1) a little over a month ago. I contracted HSV 1 from my boyfriend, he had HSV 1 in his mouth and it was contracted through oral sex. If you thought that you couldnt get HSV 1 down there, think again! because thats what happened to me and it is possible. Im having to learn to live with the fact that i am 16 still a kid and now have this huge responsibility to carry around. It forces you to grow up real quick. I just want to be able to talk and share with people who are going through the same thing that i am.

Hi Chelsea,

I'm 20 (a little bit older) but still young and living with gh, so I know how you feel. It's something we're gonna have to carry with us for a long time, and its especially difficult because of the whole "do crazy things while you are young" bit. But we just have to be careful. I wish you best of luck with everything :)

Hey, yeah it is pretty hard....especially being in high school still... i don't even want to think about what it wil be like when i get to college... its just going to get harder and harder. I know i have to be and it's just one of those things that comes as a consequence and it forces you to grow up right away.

it is not really an issue to have herpes or std. I found my std romance on http://herpesmates.com. You can find people like you to talk and share experience. They are welcome.
