so confused!

Ok so During the holidays I did some really really dumb stuff due to my substance abuse. I was really into this guy for a while and the opportunity came up to sleep with him. I remember looking at his area and thinking something wasn't right. I preformed oral on him and we slept together using a condom. 4 days later I had slept with someone else without protection (I know I'm still kicking myself in the butt about it) I did not perform oral on him, but he did to me. Anyway the next morning, we probably slept less than 8 hours I noticed a bump in my pubic area, it didn't look like an ingrown hair, there was another one aswell more towards inner lips. I had a bump on the end of my tongue that appeared at the same time and was painful. I went to the doctors a couple of days later because I was concerned, this was something I hadn't experienced. I was swabbed and that was that. well 2 more days go by and I had received a primary herpes outbreak. My gosh would I never wish that upon anyone. My question is my tests came back normal. after taking an intense 10 of valtrex it came back again and I havent had an outbreak since. Who gave this to me? What type do I have? can you notice an outbreak a couple hours later,or does it take a couple of days? The person I slept with unprotected would ask me to come over still but was not interested in having intercourse with me till another month later, did he do that because he got an outbreak and didn't tell me or want me to see? Did the person I used a condom with just have bad luck with transfering this to my mouth and genital area since we used a condom. I don't know what to do. I have sobered myself up and want to deal with the issue, any suggestions?
