I have read in a number of places that genital herpes can move through semen. Though I have read in a number of places that herpes can not transmit in semen.
Can a test be done to check if one has genital herpes though a semen examination?
Where and how can this be done as this seems very logical?
I understand what an IGG type specific is but this doesnt give an indication of where the virus maybe without visble symptoms

Hi and thanks for writing. I am not a certified health professional so I cannot answer your question specifically. What I can do is relay your question to one of our experts to see if they can give you an idea of where you are actually tested for herpes. I will let you know what I hear as soon as possible.
In the meentime, you may want to check out our Tests and Results page to see if that helps you understand the testing process a little better.
Thanks again for writing.
