I know I have Herpes, but I don't know what to look for in a breakout, help please.

So I know I have it, I gave it to my boyfriend just after we started dating. I had no clue at that point in time I was even infected. So I ended up passing it not knowing. I still feel horrible even though we are still together, but he has break outs often. I think I have them but I am not totally sure. It seems like I have yeast infections often, could they be the breakouts? I have thicker discharge, it hurts to urinate, but I don't have any sores that are any different than a yeast infection. I feel as though I am filled with venom because every other time I have intercourse with my boyfriend he gets a breakout.

Thanks so much for your post.

Just to note, I am a contributor for the online community here.  I am not however a health professional or medically trained, so I cannot answer your questions in that regard.   I can however direct you to resources on our site that could help or lead you in the right direction.

One of the first things you might do is speak with your doctor.  He/She can help you to manage your symptoms and provide possible treatments.

In the meantime, you can review some of the info on our site.  First take a look at The Basics of Genital Herpes section and if you don't have a doctor, you could use our Find a Doctor or Hospital section.

Then you could look at our different resources on managing Herpes at the "Manage" section to the left. Everything from information on the many treatments to aiding in coping as well as support groups and message boards are there to help you through.

I sure hope it does help.  All the best, SMM
