My life will never be the same

Hi, I am new to this and it's only been twenty-four hours later since I receive the worst news in my life, when the words came out of the doctor's mouth you have genital herpes I thought I was going to jump out of my skin. I have been with my financee for eleven years and four kids, when I receive the news and the doctor said, were you ever exposed by someone if it was to months ago, two years ago, or twenty years ago. The tears just started to flow because I remembered that thirthteen- fourteen years ago I was in a relationship with this guy and after we broke up I received an call from a friend stating that he had herpes and that I better get checked so by then I was with my current financee at the time and I went to get tested aleast I thought that was what I was being tested for but I just found out yesterday that if you don't spefic what test you need done doctor's only test you for the normal culture testing. So here I am 13-14 years later with something that may ruin my relationship forever.
